The Annunciation

Baroque period?
Porcelain?
Museum of the Convent of St. John the Baptist, Müstair, Switzerland.

This Annunciation is unusual in several ways. One is the absence of an architectural or other separation between Mary and the angel, who is striding purposefully into her space. Another is the absence of any indication of the Father or the Holy Spirit. Nor are there any flowers. Finally, the putti are characterized as irrepressible children.
